An unequivocal blow for women’s rights and equality is struck by Molière Celebration winner Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum!

Of course, as in Animal Farm, some wives are more equal than others.  For good or ill, it’s unlikely that this simple way to end a marriage is readily available to other women in the UAE.  (For that matter, we wonder whether it’s available to spouses in a gay marriage — though the answer seems to be obvious.)

In the footsteps of our muse, the original Molière, we might follow the path of ridicule to wherever it might lead us.

In this case, we wonder whether there is some inbreeding involved, since the ex-hubby is also a cousin. 

So many issues, and space after all is limited.

So let us cut to the chase and simply award the coveted Molière Celebration to the newly single-again Sheikha!
