With all of the heavy political and economic and foreign affairs news out there, it’s time to take a break for some harmless humor — and cats are always a suitable topic.
From Perm, Russia (formerly Molotov, for the famous cocktails) comes this news of Kroshik, or “Crumbs,”the 38-lb. cat, who was rescued by volunteers from the over-feeding regime foisted off on him by well-meaning hospital staff.
Somehow, the sobriquet “Crumbs” hardly seems appropriate, so we’ll suggest a few others, such as
Tubby Tabby
Portly Puss
Oligarch (fat cat)
He’s obviously not a bureaucrat but — Bariatricat!
But if he were a politician, he could be the Brat Cat (tip of the hat to Charli XCX)
So the coveted Molière Celebration is awarded to the feline’s rescuers, who will no doubt immediately put him on the “Catkins” diet of protein and not much else.
As for the folks who over-fed him cookies and soup(?!?) a Molière Citation, in the form of a “Road to Hell” award for their good intentions (though if they were that generous with human patients, they would overflow the Obesity ward).
(There was an Honor Blackman reference in there somewhere, but we’re going to leave sleeping cats lie.)
