Molière Citations and Celebrations
July 14, 2024
Dateline USA, July 14, 2024:
In celebration of Bastille Day, on behalf of the Molière Citations Team, we are pleased to announce the full launch of our satirical website. Based on the works of the 17th Century actor/playwright, we endeavor to ridicule public figures, celebrities, and organizations we believe are due to be taken down a peg or two. Since opening the beta version, we’ve posted nearly 100 entries, all of which are available for your review and enjoyment.
First, here’s the link to the website:
The project started last year as a concept of our internal team. As reflected in the text on the website, it is intended to use satire to ridicule public figures and organizations for the ludicrous things they do. Since the topics come directly from news sources, the tenor of the postings became quite dark, whereupon we expanded the awards from Citations to include Celebrations of positive acts by people and organizations worthy of encouragement.
As you probably experience on a nearly daily basis, it’s frustrating to read the headlines and see what kind of nonsense our public figures are engaging in. Whether it’s politics, sports, self-proclaimed “experts” on the law and science, or other egregious stories in the press, it’s downright disgusting.
We have found that it’s therapeutic to have this outlet for our own frustrations by posting biting commentary on the topic at hand, and share it with our growing audience.
If that resonates with you, we’d like to suggest that you join us with a membership, which includes the opportunity to nominate people or organizations worthy of a Molière Citation or Celebration. Just send a link to the online article, and any comments you would like to post, and we’ll edit for publication, and then you can direct your friends to see your own post.
Please see the information posted at https://molierecitations.com/membership/
You will note that there are 3 options on the Membership page:
- Membership, which also provides an opportunity to submit nominations for Citations and Celebrations
- Donations, which support our operations (they are not deductible as charitable contributions); they can be made in any amount, and may be made anonymously
- Sponsorships, which are customized for the particular sponsor; they may be used for promotional or business purposes, and may include links to other websites and additional content, depending upon the needs of both parties; we encourage sustaining (monthly or annual) sponsorships.
With that brief introduction, let me invite your colleagues to contact us through the website, with any questions or suggestions.
As Molière Citations becomes self-sustaining, we will look to our members, donors, and sponsors to sharpen our focus on the topics they find most valuable.
With gratitude and best wishes,
The Molière Citations Team
