Sneaky Pete is today’s winner of the coveted Molière Citation.  He exemplifies the old adage that “Figures don’t lie, but liars figure.”

So self-assured in the way he looks at the camera and smugly invites the audience to look it up for themselves.

The problem is that, just like so many claims coming from the Biden-Harris cabinet, the truth lies elsewhere.

Of course, his claim about crime statistics is beyond his own knowledge or responsibilities.  If he followed the admonition to stay in his own lane, he might address such issues as these:

Out of the $8 Billion (with a “B”) appropriated to his Department of Transportation for building EV charging stations, so far he has built only 7.

He never did get to the bottom of how Boeing fooled his department’s FAA into accepting internal quality checks on the 737 Max aircraft, resulting (among other things) in the deaths of 370 people in 2 crashes.  That failure has led to criminal prosecution by the DoJ, now in the settlement phase.  If Sneaky Pete had been doing his job, it never would have come to this situation.

Our inspirational Molière would have been amused to cast Buttigieg as Tartuffe, the pretender whose role is to make a fool out of everyone else.
