Although it’s not a great surprise that this news is not reported elsewhere, we’re still bestowing this award.
Today’s Molière Citation goes to the Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket wealthy social set for whining about losing their cheap labor. These Martha’s Vineyard immigrants arrested should turn heads, but not in the way residents in Massachusetts are doing.
Hypocrites much? Nanny problems? (If that doesn’t strike a chord, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nannygate ).
Will the employers of the deportees be prosecuted for the obvious variety of federal offenses like Social Security and tax violations, such as withholding requirements?
If you were in their place and you had to choose, would you rather be outed as a violator of immigration and tax laws — or show up in the Diddy court records? (Hint: you can be both!) To remind you, we wrote a bit about Diddy in the beginning of his court trial. https://molierecitations.com/takeaways-from-the-racketeering-conspiracy-and-sex-trafficking-indictment-against-sean-diddy-combs-cnn/
We make no pretense that the employment of workers who don’t enjoy legal status in the USA is exclusively a Democrat phenomenon — the MV and Nantucket denizens surely cut across party lines (and would never rat each other out). This story of Martha’s Vineyard immigrants arrested surely is a buzz when you realize MV residents are worried for their personal loss, not the problem the illegal immigrant is faced with.
Stay tuned, and in the meantime, don’t hold your breath waiting for reports of employment violations in high-rent enclaves to show up on MSNBC, CBS, NYT, WaPo, or the rest of the lefty press.
Molière Citation and referral to federal authorities is awarded to the whinging elite of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.
