“Stay-at-home wife lists the ‘worst things’ about marrying a millionaire and we feel so sorry for her.”
From the “Market Realist” comes this heart-rending tale of hardship and emotional pain.
It rings hollow to people who recently watched (or heard reports of) the “presidential debate.” With continuing inflation, tough choices between buying food or medications, unaffordable housing, and burgeoning government debt (to be exacerbated by more unfunded giveaway programs) it sounds pretty cushy.
As the Molière Citations team ponders the burden of receiving our award, we also wonder how many of our readers would be able to suffer along with having a millionaire household.
Could you, for instance, live with these hardships? Fear of getting robbed while showing off your luxury purse? Having to look “10/10” all the time (even with an unlimited budget for cosmetics and treatments)? Having too many food options?
Having your spouse buy you too many things?
Being prohibited from driving a luxury vehicle from your husband’s fleet and suffering the indignity of being chauffeured around by a driver?
Perhaps worst of all, worrying about whether someone else is going to steal your loved one? (Kidnapping doesn’t count.)
At what point do self-awareness and narcissism collide in a most unflattering way — and result in the inability to resist the urge to crow about it in everybody else’s face?
The well-deserved Molière Citation goes to Linda Andrade the “Original Dubai Housewife,” for her self-absorbed online posts of hardship and deprivation.
We caution our devoted readers to avoid taking her seriously enough to allow her to influence your own sense of reality.
Finally, just in case, if Linda is really making fun of the many wives of oil-rich patriarchs, and her whole schtick is a send-up, we welcome her to the wonderful world of satire!
