“A liberal documentary filmmaker posted on X, formerly Twitter, recordings she said she made of the justice [Samuel Alito] and his wife, Martha-Ann Alito, while posing as a religious conservative at a Supreme Court Historical Society annual dinner at the high court in D.C. on June 3.”
” In the audio, the filmmaker Lauren Windsor is heard saying to Samuel Alito she doesn’t think “we can negotiate with the left” to end the nation’s polarization and that religious conservatives need to ‘win.'”
This aberrant behavior by one Lauren Windsor, purported filmmaker, would constitute a slur on “gutter politics” if it were referred to by that sobriquet.
Like so many other foul “gotcha” political tricks, this can only lead to reciprocation by the other side — in this case liberals versus conservatives.
A few likely scenarios might include these:
“Seriously, Justice Brown-Jackson, in your private thoughts, don’t you really know what a woman is?”
“Senator Warren, don’t you agree that Indigenous Americans should be more careful which politicians they accept into their tribes?”
“Secretary Mayorkas, doesn’t it bother you that refugee Cubans from your family’s home country aren’t permitted to come ashore in Florida, causing them to take the long way around through Mexico?”
Ultimately, this nonsense won’t have any significant impact on Justice Alito.
But the smug Ms. Windsor may not be so self-satisfied when she realizes that she has brought a knife to a gunfight.
The Molière Citation is awarded to “filmmaker” Lauren Windsor for her 15 minutes of fame built on an illicit and unethical secret recording of this deceitful conversation.
PS – She’s fortunate that this secret recording was apparently not conducted in a jurisdiction that requires two-party or all-party consent, or she might be subject to legal action. In DC, she gets a pass, but don’t try it in places like California.
