Ford announced yesterday that it’s investing $3 billion to boost output of the Super Duty, the F-150’s larger sibling that’s popular with tradespeople and commercial customers.
Why? Trucks are hot, EVs are not.
Following recent announcements by Tractor Supply and John Deere, it’s apparent that Ford’s Jim Farley has gotten the message that farmers and ranchers only buy the products that work for them. They don’t need political messages or “Field of Dreams” marketing.
As the saying goes in the farming and ranching communities: “You can tell the farmers and ranchers from the city slickers with one simple test. If the person is a farmer or rancher, the poop is on the outside of the boots.”
The prestigious Molière Celebration goes to Ford Motor Company for replacing its failed EV marketing strategy with one that responds to the needs of the truck-buying population.
