Boeing CEO’s penchant for cost-cutting doesn’t apply to his trips on the company jet

Boeing’s fired CEO, David Calhoun, is still engaging in profligate behavior during his 9-month (not a typo) termination period.

Yes, it’s a head-scratcher.  Why on earth would a company’s Board of Directors fire the CEO and allow him to stay on with such profligate benefits (on top of the “oopsie”) misreporting of use of the company jet in the past?

What kind of hold does Mr. Calhoun have over the board?  Are there some compromising bodies buried somewhere not yet reported by the media?

When will they disclose the terms of the Calhoun golden parachute?

If the Boeing board had any guts, they would make a condition of his firing and any future benefits to require him to spend at least one flight a week on a Boeing 737 Max, just for quality control purposes.

Molière Citation to the Boeing Board of Directors and David Calhoun as well.

Also an honorable mention to the institutional investors in Boeing (who hold nearly 2/3 of the outstanding shares) propping up this kind of corporate nonsense!
